🎉 Welcome to the All-New Independent SEND + EHCP Website!

ree

I’m absolutely delighted to share that independentsendehcp.co.uk is now live, refreshed, and easier than ever to use. The site is now streamlined, with clearer navigation and a wealth of resources at your fingertips. Whether you’re just starting your SEND journey or need ongoing support, my aim is to make it as simple and helpful as possible.

Over the years I’ve written more than 50 blog posts, each filled with insights, strategies, and practical support for families navigating EHCPs and SEND systems. And the best part? I’ll continue sharing a new blog post every single week. If you’re not already subscribed, now’s the perfect time to join and stay connected.

This Week’s Success Stories ✨

This week has been a particularly rewarding one:

  • Specialist provision agreed before a Tribunal hearing — meaning a child can now move forward without the stress of a contested hearing.

  • A late appeal accepted at the First-tier Tribunal (FTT), ensuring a family’s voice is heard and their case considered.

  • On a personal note, my own son has now been at his bespoke provision for one month, and he is absolutely loving it. He’s already taken part in things like a resident poet workshop, with woodwork sessions starting soon, and is gradually getting to know the other children. Seeing him thrive in the right environment has been such a joy, and it’s a reminder of why securing the right provision really matters.

What You’ll Find on the Website

  • Resources & subscription plans with autism-friendly visuals, Now & Next boards, and practical tools.

  • A members’ area where you can join the community, follow other members, and connect.

  • Groups for posting, sharing, and finding support.

  • Full detail of services, including virtual meetings, EHCP guidance, and Local Authority complaint support.

  • Testimonials from families who’ve found clarity and empowerment through working with me.

Monthly Virtual Chat & Free Consultations

While I’m not planning to do social media videos, I’ll soon be hosting a monthly virtual chat session — a relaxed space where you can drop in, ask questions, and connect with others who “get it.”

And you don’t have to wait until then: I also offer FREE 20-minute consultations to help you take the next step with clarity and confidence. This is my way of giving back to our community and ensuring no one feels alone in the process.

Join Our Facebook Community

One of the most supportive spaces we have is our Facebook community of over 8,000 members. It’s a safe, welcoming place where parents and carers connect, share, and encourage one another.

📰 News & Reassurance

I know many of you have seen discussions about possible changes to SEND law and the EHCP process. I want to reassure everyone that it is business as usual right now. The Children and Families Act 2014 (CAFA 2014) and all the legal protections around EHCPs have not changed. There is no need to panic.

That said, with proposed changes being talked about, this is an ideal time to get your child’s EHCP checked. Making sure all needs are clearly identified and all provisions are properly in place will help secure your child’s future, whatever may come down the line.

👉 If you have an Annual Review coming up, remember you have the right to see the proposed updated EHCP at least two weeks before the review meeting. This gives you time to prepare, review the details carefully, and ensure the document truly reflects your child’s needs.

Being proactive now will give you peace of mind and put your child in the strongest position for the future.

So, please do take a look around the updated site, subscribe if you haven’t already, and let’s keep building this community together.

With warmth and hope,Rebekah
